How did you become a writer?
I’ve always written in some form or another. I was journalism major in college and wrote for several local publications after I graduated. I later became a PR and marketing professional and spent my days writing bios, press releases, and web content. Then, I migrated to short stories and books. I published my first novel, Someday, in 2011.
What are you hoping readers take from your book?
I write to inspire people, encourage them to follow their dreams, and live the wonderful life God intended for them while making them laugh, cry, and wonder what’s going to happen next. If readers finish my books with a renewed sense of God’s love and His desire for each of us to live the best life possible while saying to themselves, “I really enjoyed this book,” then my job is done.
If you were to write a book about a controversial topic, what would it be?
My books address the topic of sex and Christians. It’s not controversial but often people shy away from the topic of fornication. If I’m going to write a book about Christian relationships, I believe that it’s important that I address the benefits and challenges of celibacy and sex outside of marriage.
Are you an avid or occasional reader? If so, what is your favorite genre of books?
I would label myself an occasional reader. I tend to migrate toward romance, inspirational, and Christian fiction. This allows me to stay abreast of what’s going on in my genre. I also enjoy a good mystery from time to time.
If you could interview one of your favorite authors, who would it be? Why?
I’d love to interview Walter Mosley. I really enjoy what he did with his character Easy Rawlins. We should all be so lucky to have a friend with such exceptional detective skills.
If you could make a movie out of one of your books, which one would it be?
According to my readers, all the books in my trilogy (Someday, Someday, Too and Forever and a Day) should be made into a sequel of movies like Twilight! Some of them have even gone so far as to start casting. I’ve been told that Idris Elba should portray my leading man, Michael Stokes. LOL
Which marketing/promotions or publicity strategy has worked best in your favor?
Social media and email has worked wonders for book sales. Email blasts, newsletters, Facebook posts, and Twitter tweets help to keep my name and my titles in front of the masses.
Which do you like better traditional or self-publishing? Why?
At this point, all I know is self-publishing. However, I would like to try traditional publishing to see how I enjoy being signed to a mainstream publisher.
What new projects are you working on?
I am currently working on two new inspirational romance novels but the titles are still in development. I’m also editing a couple of short stories from my Things Every Good Woman Should Know estory series. I plan to release You Are Beautiful II and Actions Have Consequences this summer. My current estories can be purchased for .99 on Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com.
Where can readers find you?
Readers have several places online where they can interact with me. I always love hearing from them.

Forever and a Day Book Synopsis
Tee and Michael Stokes have realized that life for them will never be normal. As heads of a new entertainment management company and expecting parents it’s now more important than ever to figure out if their stalker, Rebecca DeFoy, is dead or alive. If she’s alive, will she kill again? If she’s dead, who is impersonating her and why? Whichever the case, they must put an end to the harassment once and for all before she puts an end to them.
Their friends have their own drama……
Tiffany has traded in her tight clothes and stilettos for big hats and conservative dresses as she tries to prove to one of Memphis’ most promising young pastors that she is worthy of a man in the pulpit. Can she control her feelings for Michael, or will temptation ruin her chances for love and her friendship with Tee? Lenice has entered the world of online dating. Her keystrokes can’t mask the pain of a failed relationship, but they could lead her into the life of an elderly millionaire. Lenora’s weight loss has changed her body and her attitude for the better, but her husband’s job at the Kitty Kat Club may be too much for even the new and improved Lenora to handle.
Join Tee, Michael, and their hilarious friends as they discover that the key to surviving this journey called life is to hold on tight to the hands of the ones you love while you pray for faith to see you through. Forever and a Day will keep you loving, laughing, and on the edge of your seat!
