FourShadough: FourShadough Publishing is a company whose sole purpose is to promote literacy throughout communities through the production and distribution of written literature. FourShadough Publishing provides a diverse variety of written work from various genres to its customers to ensure well rounded and versatile reading material. We also plan on providing educational materials/services to the public that will contribute to the continued growth and creativity in this industry.
A&RBC: What services do you provide?
FourShadough: FourShadough Publishing, LLC is a Book Publishing Company that develops written work to be published professionally through the stages of acquisition, copyediting, graphic design, production, printing, marketing, and distribution.
FourShadough: FourShadough Publishing prides itself on releasing diverse reading material. Our primary genre is urban fiction however, we look for stories with original plots as well as strong vivid writing. We pride ourselves on finding writing that produces "outside the box" thinking that deals with issues that are not talked about publicly.
A&RBC: What advice (relative to your area of business) can you give to aspiring authors?
FourShadough: The single most important advice for an aspiring author is do your research. Many authors have a misconception of what happens when they write a book and are literally accosted by predatory publishing companies that take advantage of their dreams. Aspiring authors should exercise a lot of restraint first of all then they should put the their story up and research the publishing industry from the business side so they will understand the verbiage and how the industry functions. They should reach out to other authors and ask questions and make conscious decisions. Finally, they should never, under any circumstances, ever sign a contract without having a lawyer look over it first.
