Q & A with S. J. Blenman
A&RBC: How did you become a writer?
S. J.: Last year I just decided that I love to read and had all these ideas floating around my head so one night I started tapping away into my mobile phone. That was the first chapter of The Face Within.
A&RBC: Where does your inspiration for your characters come from?
S. J.: I believe my imagination, although family and friends who have read it, think they can see similarities of people we know in one or two of the characters.
A&RBC: What are you hoping readers take from your book?
S. J.: Oh so much, love, laughter, a thrilling journey, some soul searching but lots of excitement.
A&RBC: Most writers have a process or method for writing their books, what is yours?
S. J.: No process, just write and enjoy where the characters take me.
A&RBC: What is your favorite genre of books?
S. J.: Crime/romance
A&RBC: Are you an avid or occasional reader?
S. J.: Avid, until I started writing. Now not as much as I don't want to be too influenced.
A&RBC: What are two things you want your readers to know about you?
S. J.: That I'm genuine and want the reader to enjoy my work, as much as I do.
A&RBC: If you were to write a book about a controversial topic, what would it be?
S. J.: It would have to be looking at real life cases of people being killed at the hands of Police or dying within custody.
A&RBC: If you were to write a book about a controversial topic, what would it be?
S. J.: It would have to be looking at real life cases of people being killed at the hands of Police or dying within custody.
A&RBC: If you could interview one of your favorite authors, who would it be? Why?
S. J.: Martina Cole as although her books are quite, at times dark and sad, there is always an underlining message which she is able to get across.
A&RBC: What is or was your dream job?
S. J.: To become a writer full time, that would be just beautiful.
A&RBC: What new projects are you working on?
S. J.: I've just finished, Tell Me In The Morning. A young British semi pro dancer meets a charismatic American who quickly sweeps her off her feet, but is he all that he seems?
A&RBC: Where can readers find you?
S. J.: On Twitter @SJBlenman or Facebook, SJ Blenman or email me direct, sjblenman@gmail.com

About The Book
An explosive encounter between Dean Richards and Clarissa Morgan begins late one Friday night, when the pair embark on a racy and steamy relationship. Under different circumstances, neither would be their first choice.
Dean has recently been demoted from CID and is unclear what the future holds. Clarissa is successful, with a bright future ahead of her and is thrown into turmoil when her long term boyfriend cheats on her. The timing for them both is perfect and takes them on a rebellious voyage of discovery.
Dean has a stunning blonde beauty that is desperate to be a permanent fixture in his life. Aided by his racist work colleague, the pair are determined to see an end to his relationship.
Lurking in the background is Lewis Franklin, Clarissa's ex. He is successful, handsome and completely corrupt. A serial player, who has little or no regard for women, needs Clarissa back in his life.
Dean is unaware what Clarissa does for a living and unbeknown to either of them, their lives are inexplicably intertwined. This becomes increasingly apparent when a young black male is murdered and life becomes very complicated.
A fast-paced, racy, crime novel.
